"I was amazed and delighted again and again with the wonderful wealth of textures and moods B-Five's players made with their instruments."

Our newest project featuring the music of William Byrd is growing. Together with the Swiss composer Anna Trauffer we already worked on her beautiful music and the scene - the premiere of Byrds birds will be in Boswil on march 10th...
William Byrd’s consort music is among the most exciting works of the English Renaissance. Its biting satire comments on the society of time, yet the music also conveys deeply religious reflections on the transience of life, juxtaposing elaborate polyphonic structures with joyful, dance-like folk song variations. The recorder quintet B-Five – augmented on some pieces by a sixth player – have recently made a name for themselves interpreting music from the Elizabethan Golden Age. In addition to Byrd’s celebrated hits, this CD also features some lesser known treasures from his extensive consort repertoire.
